“It hurts to say,” said Kris Boyd about his “definite” Celtics vs. Rangers title prediction

Rangers hero Kris Boyd has acknowledged that he thinks Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership once more this year.

The former Ibrox striker was reluctant to discuss his hopes for the season because the pundit couldn’t look past Celtic.

For Boyd, despite Philippe Clement’s desire to change the team, there is simply too much “chaos” around Rangers to mount a serious title challenge.

Boyd understands the task ahead of him is enormous, even with Clement committed—he inked a new four-year contract on Friday—because the manager “doesn’t have the kind of money required” for a quick fix.

Boyd stated in his column for the Scottish Sun: “It hurts to say, but I believe Celtic will win the championship once more this year.

“Rangers are facing too much chaos at Ibrox right now to make me think they can win the league.”

“Philippe Clement doesn’t have the kind of money required to transform Rangers overnight,” he went on.

“There still seems to be too much chaos around Ibrox right now, even though the manager signed a new contract yesterday.

“Clement will be around to witness the necessary change in the club, at least.

However, let’s avoid getting hung up on things. For the Rangers, winning football games is the only thing that counts, not long-term goals.

“So, I continue to believe that this season has been extremely painful for the club’s supporters.
