In response to what Michael Stewart stated regarding Rangers star, BBC Sportsound has apologised to listeners
Michael Stewart apologised live on BBC Sportsound on August 3rd when he discussed Todd Cantwell at Rangers.
After speaking with Philippe Clement, the English playmaker submitted two transfer requests to Ibrox this summer. He did not play against Hearts on the opening day.
Before the game at Tynecastle got underway, Stewart maintained that the other players wouldn’t be too bothered by it.
Pre-match on August 3, 12:25 on BBC Sportsound, Stewart gave his assessment of the Rangers team’s possible desire for him to stay.
“It depends on his true nature. If he’s a strong team player and a good lad, then personally, I would be thinking that you just hope he can be persuaded and his mind can change, that he can hang around,” he remarked.
“Maybe you’re telling yourself you don’t want him in the changing room and you’d rather he left if he’s a bit of a [p-word] and you don’t really like him.”
“You’re listening to Sportsound on opening weekend of the league season, goalless at Tynecastle, we want to apologise for any offence caused by language in the pre-match chat that was before kick-off,” BBC Sportsound host Kenny MacIntyre said at halftime.
Swearing in real time on BBC Sportsound, Michael Stewart
Just a few weeks into the season, and we’ve already heard Stewart go bonkers, as he usually does, while covering the Rangers.

Cantwell has requested a transfer, but Clement has kept the door open for him, so it seems that he hasn’t upset the team too much.
In that area of the pitch, it makes more sense to get rid of players and start over because they are constantly being sold to raise money for new signings.
It was understandable that both teams lacked creativity on the first day of play, as Clement and his team occasionally overused the long ball.
Tom Lawrence was the main creative choice, and while he had a respectable performance, it was evident that Cantwell added a different spark.
Although Cyriel Dessers missed a few significant opportunities once more, it was evident from the start that Nils Koppen will be extremely busy for the rest of the month.
