Ricky Carmichael Shares his thoughts on Eli tomac stance at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida

Supercross legend Ricky Carmichael has no doubt about who reigns supreme at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FloridaEli Tomac. Speaking on a recent podcast, Carmichael didn’t mince words when discussing the SMX 450 race in Tampa, making it clear that if he had to place a bet, it would be on Tomac.

“We all know Eli Tomac is the King of Tampa. The guy has dominated that track for years. If I had to bet, my money would definitely be on him,” Carmichael said. “He just knows how to win there. He’s got the starts, he’s got the speed, and when the lights come on in Tampa, he delivers.”

Tomac, a two-time winner in Tampa (2018, 2020), has built a reputation for excelling on the technical dirt and the ever-changing Florida conditions. His aggressive yet calculated riding style makes him a nightmare for competitors whenever the series stops in Tampa.

Carmichael: “He’s Dominated Those Tracks”

Carmichael, a five-time Supercross champion and Florida native, understands what it takes to win in Tampa. He emphasized that Tomac’s track record speaks for itself.

“Look at history—Eli doesn’t just win there; he dominates. He knows the setup, he knows the lines, and he knows how to handle the Florida humidity. You can’t argue with results,” Carmichael said.

With the 2025 Supercross season in full swing, Tomac will once again be looking to add to his legacy in Tampa. If Carmichael’s words hold weight, fans should expect nothing less than another legendary performance from the King of Tampa.

Will Tomac add another win to his Tampa résumé? If Ricky Carmichael had to guess, he already knows the answer.
