David Turnbull made a timing disclosure and left wondering whether the Celtics’ departure was due to “other things.”
David Turnbull is not sure if his Celtic career fizzled out due to “other things” after a difficult closing six months at Parkhead.
The former Motherwell midfielder left for Cardiff City on deadline day, sealing a £2million swap to South Wales with simply six months closing on his Hoops contract. Turnbull determined himself out of favour beneath Brendan Rodgers after at the start appearing to play his way back into first crew contention following a drop down the pecking order below predecessor Ange Postecoglou.
Turnbull admits he determined it difficult now not being involved, but insists he has nothing but proper memories from his time as a Celtic player. It nearly by no means happened after the go in the beginning fell via when Turnbull ruptured cruciate ligaments at Fir Park. But the Premiership champions had been organized to wait, and snapped him for £3.5million upon his return to fitness. But it’s now time for a new chapter in the English Championship.
“I assume it used to be the right time for me [to move on]. I had a exceptional time at Celtic, a notable three and a 1/2 years, and I loved each minute of it,” he said. “But maybe the last six months to a 12 months hasn’t been the way I desired it. To come to a crew like Cardiff is a incredible go for myself.
“It’s about attempting to replicate some matters I have performed before and putting my very own fashion on to the team. At the begin of the season I was once playing games and after that fell away a wee bit. Sometimes in soccer that happens.
“Whether it is down to other matters I am now not sure, but I depart Celtic completely satisfied with a lot of my time there and it’s time to come on to new things now.”
