Well-liked Ibrox Exclusive: Rangers can sign Zdjelar thanks to CSKA
According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, CSKA Moscow has made it possible for Rangers to sign Sasa Zdjelar during the January transfer window. CSKA Moscow is willing to let the 29-year-old leave the team this month, according to senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
The Russian team is willing to let Zdjelar leave for a little amount in January rather than allowing him finish out his contract, which ends at the end of this season. Rangers may be able to sign the Serbian international at a reduced cost as CSKA Moscow looks to cash in on him as a result.
Although the Gers are trying to bolster their roster this month, Zdjelar is a more defensive-minded midfielder than players they have previously been connected to.
Rangers are looking to sign players on cut-price contracts who are nearing the end of their current contracts, according to reliable sources who spoke to Football Insider. One thing that separates the Gers from Celtic at the moment is their inability to pay high transfer fees.
In order to compete at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the Gers are currently searching for lesser-known players to bolster their roster.
With 21 appearances in all competitions this season, the Serbian international is become a mainstay in the CSKA Moscow squad. Since joining CSKA Moscow in 2022, Zdjelar has made 96 appearances for the team, serving as a vital element of the team during that time.
