For the 2025 season, Deontae Lawson will rejoin the Alabama Crimson Tide.
With the announcement of top linebacker Deontae Lawson’s return for the 2025 campaign, Alabama fans have cause for celebration. Lawson’s return is anticipated to bolster the Crimson Tide’s defense under head coach Kalen DeBoer, after he led the team with 76 tackles in 2024.
Despite suffering a knee injury versus Oklahoma in 2024, Lawson’s effort and leadership garnered him All-SEC Honors and was named team captain. “Alabama is home, and I want to finish what I started, including bringing home a national championship,” Lawson said in reference to his comeback.
Coach DeBoer called Lawson a pillar of the team and commended his commitment. “His return is very significant to this program, and he is a leader both on and off the field,” DeBoer stated.
Along with Justin Jefferson and Tim Keenan III, Lawson is one of several important defensive players making a comeback for the forthcoming campaign. Alabama is ready to make another serious run for a national championship in 2025 with this excellent group.
Lawson’s return has fans ecstatic, as the Crimson Tide defense appears poised to take the field once more.
