Clement must be enraged by the Auchenhowie photos amid Gers transfer requirement

Rangers’ roster was unbalanced when Philippe Clement took over, especially because there were too many players who could play number ten.

Sam Lammers is the only one who has been sold, and Tom Lawrence has started the two competitive games of 2024–25 nearly by default.

Even though Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi are for sale and Alex Lowry hasn’t lived up to his obvious potential, they’re all still at the Rangers and in excellent physical condition.

Todd Cantwell was observed by himself during Rangers practice.

The manager’s squad is weaker as a result of the players’ choices, but he isn’t exactly taking a savage approach to save face.

While there has been news about Cantwell’s future, Hagi has been sharing photos of his work at Aughenhowie.

Cantwell was spotted skulking in the background of the weekly training video that Rangers posted.

The 25-year-old’s absence is even more annoying because he is not injured.

Cantwell and Hagi both have the potential to make an impact, but Lawrence just lacks the dynamism and mobility that he once possessed.

With Jefte and Vaclav Cerny joining the team, the latter in particular would inject more energy into an attacking lineup that already looked promising.

However, Clement has already done more than just extend an olive branch to Cantwell:

Todd came to his office a while ago and said he wanted to look for another adventure and take a step forward.

We had a lengthy conversation because our relationship is positive. I assured him that Rangers is an amazing team and that I would give it some serious thought.

“However, he has returned to clarify that’s his desire, so I must concentrate on the players who are present in the building, all of whom have made up their minds to play in August—both the league games and the qualifying matches.”

Clement is still working at Rangers with his hands tied.

Cantwell continues to play for Rangers, a lone figure despite rumours of him moving to Saudi Arabia and, less formally, Turkey.

Ironically, Clement doesn’t lack players who can play at number ten—if you count Jose Cifuentes as well—he just can’t decide which ones to select.

It’s interesting to note that despite being present at the training ground, Hagi was absent from the training videos.

He is either in the process of negotiating an exit, has already agreed to leave, or is training with the B team, while Cantwell now seems to be working independently.

No player is bigger than Rangers, and now that he’s made his bed, Cantwell shouldn’t be given another opportunity to change his mind after being given the opportunity to reconsider.

Clement mentioned that he needed to find a solution for issue number 10, as having two gifted people walking around Auchenhowie like Hagi and Cantwell must be a daily source of frustration.
