Celtic take two talented youth internationals on trial
This summer, Celtic will use trials to assess Cliftonville’s Ryan Corrigan and Shay Reid in an effort to strengthen the ranks of the club’s youth and B-teams
Reid, a young striker, was expected to be given a chance at the Scottish champions last month, following a successful season at the U16 and U18 levels in which he scored 36 goals overall.

Having represented Northern Ireland at the U16 age group, a number of other clubs, notably opponents in the Scottish Premiership, Hibernian, are also keeping an eye on his development.
Despite his youth, Corrigan, a 17-year-old youth international for Northern Ireland, has already played senior football for Cliftonville. He will accompany Reid on a week-long trial with the Bhoys younger teams.
The adolescent striker, who also plays defence, has five club outings under his belt. He even scored in Friday’s NIFL Charity Shield matchup against Larne. The team recently signed him to his first professional deal. The club academy’s social media accounts revealed the two trials on Sunday.
Over the past six months, Celtic’s development program has seen adjustments as Darren O’Dea assumed the newly created position of Professional Player Pathway Manager.
Jonny Hayes, a former winger, has also joined the coaching staff to assist Stephen McManus, the B team manager.
Next season, Celtic B will participate in the Scottish Lowland Football League once more in addition to the redesigned UEFA Youth League, which follows the same updates as the main Champions League competition.
In April of last year, Brendan Rodgers expressed his desire to use more players from the club’s Academy than he had in previous years.
Additionally, the team has spent millions of dollars building a brand-new training facility in Barrowfield, which will be utilised by Celtic FC Women and the Academy.
