Ramon Vega on why Brendan Rodgers should look to bring ‘exciting’ Swiss talent to Celtic

This summer, Celtic is looking to bolster their roster, and midfield has been identified as a position where reinforcements may be added before the deadline.

Luke McCowan, the captain of Dundee, and Arne Engels, a gifted player from Augsburg, have been mentioned recently as names the Bhoys may want to bolster the engine room.

It’s possible that both clubs are willing to cash in on their prize assets, but as of right now, neither bid has been officially documented.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that names associated with earlier in the summer may reappear when their circumstances become more apparent, especially with two weeks left, give or take.

Alvyn Sanches, a midfielder for Lausanne-Sport, seems to fit that description. The £4.3 million-rated Switzerland Under-21 international was the subject of interest from Celtic back in June, and now Mailsport’s Stephen McGowan has confirmed he is once again being considered as a possible Matt O’Riley replacement.

Ramon Vega, a former player for Celtics, expressed his admiration for the 21-year-old and said that Brendan Rodgers should think about bringing him to Glasgow’s east end.

According to The Celtic Way, Vega thinks Sanches has gained useful experience in the Swiss top division and, should Celtic sign the player this month, may develop into a lucrative asset down the road.

“Alvyn Sanches is a good prospect, especially for a club like Celtic,” he clarified. He is incredibly gifted. I’ve heard that Celtic are looking to replace Matt O’Riley. It will be very challenging to replace that hole. Sanches may bring in a lot of money for Celtic in two to three years if they sign him now.

Like O’Riley, I could see Sanches becoming Celtic’s next $20–$25 million+ player if he signed with them now and performed well.

“Everyone is talking about Sanches in Switzerland,” he said afterwards. Brendan Rodgers, the manager of the Celtics, might be able to work with him to help him advance and improve his game. At this point in his career, Brendan is the ideal manager to assist him raise his game.

“He is a promising young player who has represented Lausanne in over 100 games and has a wealth of excellent experience. Playing that many games in any league speaks much about a person’s character.

In 88 games for Lausanne-Sport, Sanches has netted 14 goals and provided seven assists, demonstrating his true potential back home.

He made 27 opportunities and finished 33 successful dribbles in the previous term, so he has a lot of potential to succeed under Brendan Rodgers’ guidance [Fotmob].

Ultimately, it would be challenging to replace O’Riley if he were to leave during this window due to interest from other teams. Rather of dumping his responsibilities on a new hire, there can be a situation where the creative load needs to be shared.

But you should evaluate each player according to their individual merits. If the Bhoys decide to confirm their early admiration for Sanches, then he could be a wise addition.
