After a fantastic start to their Scottish Premiership campaign, Celtic are busy getting ready to enter another event this season.

The Bhoys are leading the league going into this weekend’s Scottish League Cup play at Celtic Park after to victories over Hibernian and Kilmarnock.

After being eliminated so early in the competition last year, Brendan Rodgers’ team will face Hibs once more. There is a newfound emphasis on performing well in this competition.

Prior to the match, there are no significant injury concerns; nonetheless, the Celtic manager will be closely monitoring a few players over the next 48 hours.

The fact that Kyogo Furuhashi and Alistair Johnston were absent from Lennoxtown training on Friday piqued the interest of Celtic supporters, and Rodgers clarified the matter in a press conference.

Brendan Rodgers on the situation of Kyogo and Johnston
When questioned about the two [Celtic FC], he responded, “We’re just looking at one or two between now and the weekend. The general group is okay.” In any case, this was a less demanding day.

“We just chose to have one or two players play a little bit less today since the others have been incredibly fantastic all week. Tomorrow, we’ll take one more look at them.

“Alistair Johnston will be alright on Sunday; we just need to check him out,” said Kyogo.

Although the staff is clearly being careful, that is an ongoing issue that won’t rule him out for an extended period of time.

Fortunately, Adam Idah is back in the building and ready to play if necessary. The wise choice would be to back the new big money player to win this one and give his Japanese buddy a break.
