Brian McClair on the possibility of Ben Doak returning to Celtic this summer amid links

Before the transfer deadline, Brendan Rodgers is probably going to make a few last-minute additions to Celtic’s roster.

Adam Idah will soon make the permanent move to the Bhoys. The international player for the Republic of Ireland will join from Norwich City for an initial fee of £8.5 million, with an additional £1 million added on. This will set a record transfer fee.

Hamish bids adieu to Celtic, the team returns, and the futures of 67 Hail Hail Liverpool players Owen Beck and Bobby Clark have been mentioned as Celtic targets. Talent from Anfield seems to be the order of the day, as reports suggest Rodgers is also keeping an eye on Ben Doak this window.

After moving out of Celtic Park when he was sixteen, the Dalry native has played in ten first teams at Anfield. Now that it’s being discussed in relation to leaving Merseyside, it’s not shocking that a return north of the border has been suggested.

Celtic can take heart from Nicolas Kuhn’s early-season form. Still, having a diverse group of game-changers in the squad would provide depth security. Doak, in Brian McClair’s opinion, might be the best option to offer a strong substitute on the wings.
